Why not just use ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude? Or read the standards yourself?
Generic AI doesn't access the actual B Corp standards - they're only available as extensive PDFs or through a logged-in portal, so it falls back on online info and articles and whatever's easily accessible. Answers can be incomplete or plain wrong. Even broken into individual impact topics, each PDF runs to hundreds of pages - far beyond what any general AI can reliably process. And much of the standards content sits inside images and diagrams, which most AI tools can't accurately extract in bulk or accurately - including the applicability rules that determine what applies to your specific size, sector, and industry. Get those wrong and you're working towards the wrong requirements entirely..

A business using our B Corp assistant to navigate certification is making a meaningful step toward better environmental and social outcomes. In that context, the energy cost of a focused, purposeful AI interaction is a reasonable tradeoff. We've designed our assistants to minimise unnecessary use, and we'll keep looking for ways to reduce impact as the technology improves. WHY CLAUDE? We chose Anthropic's Claude as the underlying model for its stronger focus on AI safety, transparency, and ethical development. It's a deliberate choice. PRIVACY & DATA SECURITY Our assistants run on enterprise-grade infrastructure, certified to SOC 2 Type II standards. Your data is encrypted both in storage and in transit (AES-256 and TLS 1.3 - the same standards used by banks and healthcare providers). Your conversations are not used to train AI models and are not shared with third parties for that purpose. Data is stored securely in the US. ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT We've designed the assistant to keep its impact low. It gives concise, focused answers and prompts you to start a fresh chat when you switch topics - because each new message reprocesses the full conversation history, so shorter, topic-focused sessions use significantly less energy than one long chat.
